Bokeh

In photography, bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh occurs for parts of the scene that lie outside the depth of field, and are often deliberately created using a shallow focus technique.

Examples of bokeh

My own photos

This was my first attempt at bokeh, it took me a while to work out which camera settings were best for the effect, how far to focus and what size to make my bokeh stencil. These images aren't as good because they look very unfocused and someone of my stencils were the wrong size.

This was my second attempt and I think these images are a lot more effective and a lot better.

I used a piece of black card that had been ripped out a sketch book, the circular shape is from the binder hole and the other detail if from where i have ripped the page from the sketch book.

I used my F stencil and my heart stencil together.
